Art in the Park by Bunmi Ogunsiji Back to browse title
cobalt blue, vermillion red
and purple hands
water inner city
dry lands,
the children have been and seen
the urban decay.
open ended visions illume concrete tombs,
and fly like acrylic butterflies
leaving childhood wombs
the children have been and seen
the urban decay.
playground alchemists
turn gravel to gold,
bubblegum dreamers
regenerate the old,
the children have been and seen
the urban decay,

they have been and noticed
the absence
of sunflowers.
