doppelgangers by Michael di Placido Back to browse title
Amazing who you see on the street:
today, Van Morrison in Asda;
last month, Kylie
selling ciggies in Tesco s.

I've been pursued down The Headrow
to Briggate by Karl Marx.
And in a café last summer,
Madonna serving sausage and chips.

It can be disconcerting though -
Bono up a ladder. Bill Gates in Oxfam.
Richard Burton in a Reliant Robin.
